Rosmarin (Rosmarinus Officinalus)
What it is: Activated charcoal is pure carbon. It is produced by high temperature burning of coconut shells, wood, bamboo, or tree bark with oxygen. This process opens up millions of tiny pores that attract and bind impurities. Charcoal treated with oxygen is “activated.” Our activated charcoal comes from sustainable Irish willow bark trees .
Why we love it: Activated willow charcoal is highly porous and remarkably effective at trapping impurities. Willow charcoal has an extremely large surface area of 1800 – 2500 square metres per gram. The large surface area attracts molecules, which are adsorbed (held) to the surface of the charcoal. This quality makes charcoal extremely effective at removing impurities from the skin and the reason we love it in our facial masks and detox products
Where we get it from: Our activated charcoal is produced in Ireland from sustainably grown Irish willow trees.
Certifications: Our activated charcoal is pure carbon free of impurities. It cannot be classified as organic.
